Niamh Peren Bubblegum

Bubblegum

Bubblegum (2008) is a performative piece that has screened on National TV in Austria (thanks to arts program Helix), at Egyetemleges Film Festival in Budapest and at the Hokianga Outpost, NZ. As a projected film, Bubblegum embodies illumination, and was inspired by the massive blobs of sticky residue parading Auckland's streets, gum. The visceral chewing of eight pieces of Hubba Bubba bubblegum queries the healthiness of the process for both human and landscape. Can it stick people together?
