Lara Fischel Chisholm featuring Cut Collective Whose Wall is This?
Art in the Dark is Lara Fischel Chisholm’s first foray into video installation and she excited to be enlisting the talents of local graffiti writers and street artists to realise this project. The work is based on local graffiti and street art culture and explores the idea of graffiti and street artists as voices of the community and their art as social commentary – it also explores the temporary nature of this art and challenges the social stigma around graffiti and street art.
Artists from Cut Collective will use only white materials and the execution of each artwork will be filmed under a UV light creating a neon effect. The video footage will then be edited and looped into several different films, and then projected onto two sides of the old toilet block in Western Park.
