Isobel Dryburgh
Isobel Dryburgh's piece for Art in the Dark explores the sea. An area of extensive investigation and exploration, Dryburgh has attempted to make this space intimate.
Performers will be spread out over a slope in Western Park, labouring their own oceans. Using the body and elements of puppetry to explore this force of nature.
Isobel Dryburgh
Isobel Dryburgh is a performance and video artist, currently based in Auckland. After graduating from Elam School of Fine Arts with first class honours in 2010, Isobel spent a year in New York, working on films and experiencing the city. Here she contributed additional photography to Florian Habicht’s most recent project Love Story. Much of Isobel’s work relies upon giving away control, to that end, she tends toward live performance. Dryburgh is interested in making ideas manageable and comfortable. She takes experiences from her life and forces in the world then translates them into performance and/or video.
