Celery House Icarus

A young woman wanders through a field of flickering lights, singing a haunting melody. There, she encounters an angel, who, upon seeing her, launches into the sky and flies away above the trees...

Utilising the incredible mechanical 8m wide wings created by Harry Harrison, this performance piece features Ella Mizrahi showcasing her brilliant operatic skills, and Douglas Wright dancer, Alex Leonhartsberger, as the angel.

This piece, designed especially for Art in the Dark by the event's Creative Director, Celia Harrison, and Public Relations Manager, Ella Mizrahi, lasts approximately 20 minutes and will be shown several times over both nights.

Celery Productions is the newly formed company made up of Art in the Dark's Creative Director, Celia Harrison, and Public Relations Manager, Ella Mizrahi. This unique production company focuses on turning fantastic ideas into exceptional events. Their piece for Art in the Dark is a collaboration with renowned New Zealand Flying Rig and Engineering Specialist, Harry Harrison, whose film credits include Lord of the Rings, The Frighteners and The Vintner's Luck, and the lighting extraordinaires at Optic Shock.
